Education & Training
Danielle Gaglini Hallowell, L.Ac, MAOM, Dipl.OM is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and a national Diplomat of Oriental Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies at Wellesley College and her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the New England School of Acupuncture at MCPHS University in Massachusetts. She was trained in both Chinese and Japanese style acupuncture, orthopedic acupuncture, and Chinese herbal medicine. Danielle assisted with and interned for 16 practitioners at 7 clinics across the state, including the Edith Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA, where she treated veterans with PTSD and chronic pain.
Prior to her time studying Traditional East Asian Medicine, Danielle received her 200-hour yoga teaching certification at the Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayurveda. She is also a Level II Reiki practitioner trained by Master Debra Basili, a Biofield Tuning practitioner trained by Eileen McKusick, and a student of Dr. Ben Benjamin in orthopedic bodywork and conditioning. Danielle has led yoga classes, workshops, and provided integrated energy work sessions across the United States, Costa Rica and Peru.
Background
Danielle encountered several periods of “dis-ease” throughout her life and often had little relief or resolve with western medical interventions. She discovered the power of the mind-body connection through an8-week, evidence- based meditation course in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, designed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, that sent her on a journey of healing and self-discovery. Meditation paved the way to learn and integrate other modalities into her own wellbeing practice. After years of exploration, Danielle was called to honor her greater purpose by offering ancient traditional medicine to others as a doorway through suffering and a return to wholeness.
Treatment
Danielle is trained to treat multiple health conditions and disharmonies, and her interests lie in addressing chronic health conditions. Her specialties include chronic fatigue, chronic pain, digestive issues, all women’s health concerns from menarche to menopause, headaches and migraines, arthritis, autoimmune disorders, anxiety, and depression.
She integrates her background of adjunctive therapies, herbal medicine, and energy work into acupuncture treatments and uniquely approaches each individual’s needs and wellness goals. Danielle’s intention is always to treat the root cause of illness by thoroughly analyzing both the patient’s constitution and history. She deeply understands the burden of chasing symptoms without resolution and seeks to guide each person back to their balanced state of being. Danielle believes that the patient- practitioner relationship is sacred and that true healing occurs when the patient becomes their own hero.
