Background

Julie has had the great pleasure of working with clients in diverse settings over the course of her career.  She began working with adolescent girls in a shelter setting.  Julie then transitioned to a hospital setting to offer support to patients.  Julie later worked in community-based therapy which led to her opening a private counseling practice.

Treatment Philosophy and Approach

Julie’s therapeutic approach is individually tailored toward the strengths of her clients.  She will work to establish a trusting relationship with you where you feel accepted and supported.  Clients typically seek Julie out for grief counseling, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and/or while facing significant life adjustments.

Individual counseling sessions are offered to support you.  Trying to work through your concerns alone can be very difficult.  Having a safe place, and the support of an experienced and compassionate therapist during life’s challenges can be beneficial.

Julie’s philosophy is to treat in a holistic manner, understanding that we exist as physical, emotional, and spiritual beings.  In this psychodynamic environment, coping mechanisms are explored and expanded upon.  Julie has experience incorporating meditation into sessions if clients are interested in doing so.
