"I eat pretty healthy."
It's something I hear almost every week.
People come into my office frustrated and confused. They're trying to make better choices. They buy organic when they can. They exercise. They drink more water. They avoid fast food. Yet they still struggle with fatigue, brain fog, bloating, cravings, poor sleep, inflammation, stubborn weight, digestive issues, or simply feeling like they're running on empty.
Many begin to wonder...
"Is this just part of getting older?"
"Is this just how my body is now?"
My answer is almost always the same.
Not necessarily.
Sometimes your body isn't working against you. It's simply asking for something different.
Over the past several decades, our food has changed dramatically.
Foods that once came from farms now often come from factories. Sugar has quietly found its way into products we don't even consider "sweet." Refined carbohydrates, artificial ingredients, unhealthy oils, preservatives, and processed foods have become everyday staples.
The result?
Many of us are constantly riding the blood sugar roller coaster without even realizing it.
One minute we're energized.
A few hours later we're exhausted.
We reach for another coffee...
Another snack...
Something sweet after dinner...
And the cycle repeats.
Eventually it becomes so normal that we forget what it actually feels like to have steady energy, a clear mind, and balanced cravings.
One of the biggest myths I hear is:
"I just need more self-control."
But this isn't simply about willpower.
Our bodies are incredibly intelligent.
When blood sugar rises and falls throughout the day, hormones change. Hunger changes. Energy changes. Mood changes. Cravings become stronger. Even our ability to make healthy decisions becomes more difficult.
That's why so many diets fail.
They ask people to rely solely on discipline without teaching them what's happening inside their body.
Knowledge changes everything.
When you understand why cravings happen, why healthy fats are important, why digestion matters, and how blood sugar affects nearly every system in the body, making healthier choices becomes much easier.
One of the things I love most about teaching the RESTART® Program is watching people realize that good nutrition doesn't have to be overwhelming.
There are no expensive supplements required.
No meal replacements.
No juices.
No shakes.
No starvation.
Just real, nourishing food.
Food that our bodies were designed to recognize.
Food that helps reduce inflammation rather than contribute to it.
Simple concepts can create profound changes.
When people first join the program, many hope they'll simply reduce their sugar intake.
What surprises them is everything else that begins to change.
Many participants have shared their experiences:
Perhaps the greatest transformation isn't just physical.
It's the feeling of finally being in control again.
One participant shared,
"I am no longer a slave to the desire for sugar, and let me tell you friends, there is nothing sweeter than this."
Another wrote,
"I learned more about food and how it interacts with my body in this five week program than I did in my previous fifty years."
Reading comments like these reminds me why I continue teaching this program year after year.
As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I've learned that there isn't one diet that's perfect for everyone.
But there are foundational principles that almost everyone can benefit from.
Learning how blood sugar affects your body.
Understanding digestion.
Removing processed foods for a period of time.
Rediscovering healthy fats.
Learning how to nourish your body instead of simply feeding it.
These are skills that last long after the five weeks are over.
This isn't about perfection.
It's about education.
It's about creating awareness.
It's about giving your body the opportunity to remind you what feeling good actually feels like.
One thing I've noticed over the last six years is that people rarely struggle because they lack information.
They struggle because they're trying to make changes alone.
The support, encouragement, accountability, shared recipes, questions, victories, and even the challenges discussed during the program become just as valuable as the nutrition education itself.
When people realize others are facing the same obstacles, the journey becomes much easier—and much more enjoyable.
So, what is RESTART®?
RESTART® is part nutritional education, part sugar detox, and part support group—an empowering combination designed to help you build a healthier relationship with food.
It’s a 5-week live group program with a 3-week REAL FOOD sugar detox built into it. The goal isn't to put you on another restrictive diet, but to help you understand how food affects your body and give you practical tools you can continue using long after the program ends.
Each week builds on the one before:
Learn how to prepare mentally, physically, and emotionally for the sugar detox and set yourself up for success.
Explore why healthy digestion matters and how you can better support your digestive system.
Understand what happens in your body when you consume excess sugar and refined carbohydrates—and learn how to step off the sugar roller coaster.
Challenge the old idea that “fat makes you fat” and learn why healthy fats are an important part of a nourishing diet.
Bring everything together and learn how to integrate the knowledge, tools, and habits you've developed into your everyday life.
And you won't be doing it alone.
My RESTART® classes are live and interactive, with a small group environment where you can ask questions, share experiences, learn from others, and receive support throughout the process. The program also includes course materials, the RESTART® Cookbook, and access to a private support group.
No juicing. No meal replacements. No shakes. No starvation. And no expensive supplements required.
Just real food, practical nutrition education, support, and the opportunity to discover how good you can feel.
After offering the RESTART® Program for more than six years and seeing so many participants transform their relationship with food, I'm excited to offer it for the first time through NH Health & Wellness Center in Nashua.
The Center's mission has always been to empower people through education and integrative approaches that support the whole person, making it a wonderful home for this program.
If you've been feeling tired, inflamed, stuck in a cycle of cravings, or simply wondering why you don't feel like yourself anymore, this may be the gentle reset your body has been asking for.
You don't need to be perfect.
You don't need to know everything about nutrition.
You simply need a willingness to learn and a desire to feel better.
Sometimes the first step toward better health isn't finding another diet.
It's finally understanding your body.
And once you do, everything starts to change.
Maybe it’s time to RESTART®
