HOLISTIC COUNSELING

Holistic counseling is an integrative approach to therapy that honors the complexity and wholeness of the human experience. Rooted in the clinical foundations of psychotherapy, it works with the whole person — mind, body, emotions, spirit, relationships, environment, and lived experience.

Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or diagnosis, holistic counseling recognizes that many struggles are adaptive responses to trauma, chronic stress, attachment wounds, and life experiences. Symptoms are viewed as meaningful messengers, offering insight into what is asking to be seen, supported, and healed.

Drawing from Attachment-Focused EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, EFT, polyvagal-informed approaches, and other body-based modalities, this work supports trauma resolution, nervous system regulation, and emotional integration. Through inner child healing, somatic awareness, and nervous system work, we explore the origins of survival patterns and support the body in processing stored stress and unresolved trauma. As the nervous system becomes more regulated and flexible, many people experience greater clarity, connection, presence, emotional freedom, embodiment, and a deeper relationship with their authentic self.

At its core, holistic counseling is a return to wholeness — reconnecting with the body's innate capacity for healing, wisdom, and transformation.

ATTACHMENT-FOCUSED EMDR THERAPY

Attachment-Focused EMDR Therapy (https://parnellemdr.com) is a specialized approach to trauma therapy that addresses both traumatic experiences and the impact of early attachment relationships.

While traditional EMDR Therapy (https://www.emdria.org) is highly effective for processing traumatic memories, Attachment-Focused EMDR also helps heal the deeper relational wounds that may contribute to anxiety, low self-worth, relationship challenges, emotional reactivity, and chronic nervous system activation.

EMDR Therapy supports the development of greater internal safety, self-compassion, emotional resilience, and secure attachment.

SOMATIC EXPERIENCING® & SOMATIC HEALING

Somatic Experiencing® (https://traumahealing.org) is a body-based approach to healing trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, and nervous system dysregulation.

Traumatic experiences often become stored within the nervous system, creating patterns of hypervigilance, overwhelm, shutdown, anxiety, chronic tension, or emotional reactivity. Somatic Experiencing® helps individuals gently reconnect with the body's natural capacity to regulate, process, and heal.

Through developing awareness of bodily sensations and nervous system responses, clients often experience greater ease, resilience, embodiment, and connection.

EFT TAPPING

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT Tapping) (https://eftuniverse.com) combines gentle acupressure with focused awareness to help reduce emotional distress and regulate the nervous system.

EFT Tapping can be highly effective for anxiety, stress, limiting beliefs, emotional overwhelm, self-worth challenges, and unresolved emotional experiences. Many clients find that EFT provides a practical tool they can continue using outside of sessions to support emotional well-being and nervous system regulation.

POLYVAGAL THEORY & NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION

Polyvagal Theory helps us understand how the nervous system responds to experiences of safety, connection, stress, and threat.

Many symptoms that people struggle with—including anxiety, panic, emotional overwhelm, chronic stress, people-pleasing, shutdown, and difficulty connecting with others—can be understood through the lens of nervous system regulation.

Polyvagal-informed approaches support greater nervous system flexibility, emotional regulation, self-awareness, and capacity for connection.

INTEGRATIVE INTUITIVE HEALING

Integrative Intuitive Healing Sessions are non-clinical sessions held within a somatic, intuitive, and spiritually oriented framework that supports embodiment, self-awareness, personal transformation, and conscious evolution. These sessions are not psychotherapy and are not focused on diagnosis, assessment, or treatment of mental health conditions. Instead, they are designed to support individuals on a path of healing, growth, spiritual exploration, and deeper connection to themselves.

These sessions weave together nervous system support, somatic awareness, intuitive guidance, energetic healing, and embodiment practices tailored to each individual's unique journey. Drawing from Somatic Experiencing®, EFT Tapping, shadow work, Akashic Records, and intuitive practices, Jackie helps clients explore the deeper patterns, conditioning, unresolved experiences, and protective strategies that may be influencing their present experience.

Often, the challenges and recurring patterns that continue to surface in life are not random. Together, we explore what is seeking attention, healing, or integration so that disconnected aspects of self can be reclaimed and brought into greater wholeness. These sessions may include exploration of ancestral and intergenerational patterns, past-life themes, spiritual awakening, energetic blocks, intuitive development, channeled guidance, and Light Language when aligned with a client's beliefs and goals. The intention is to support greater embodiment, nervous system coherence, connection to inner wisdom, and alignment with the deeper truth of who you are.

FAQ'S

What types of concerns do you help clients with?

I specialize in trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, chronic stress, grief, relationship challenges, self-worth issues, life transitions, and nervous system dysregulation. My work supports individuals seeking deeper healing, greater resilience, and a stronger connection to themselves and others.

What is your approach to therapy?

My approach is holistic and integrative, combining traditional psychotherapy with somatic and trauma-informed modalities. I draw from Attachment-Focused EMDR, Somatic Experiencing®, EFT Tapping, mindfulness, and Polyvagal-informed practices to support healing of the mind, body, and spirit.

What is Somatic Experiencing?

Somatic Experiencing® is a body-based approach to healing trauma and chronic stress that supports the nervous system's natural capacity for healing and restoration. By gently working with physical sensations, emotions, and survival responses held within the body, individuals can cultivate greater regulation, resilience, vitality, and connection to themselves and their lives.

What is Attachment-Focused EMDR?

Attachment-Focused EMDR combines traditional EMDR with an understanding of how early relationships shape our nervous systems, beliefs, and emotional patterns. It helps heal both traumatic experiences and the deeper relational wounds that often live beneath them.

Do I need to talk about my trauma in detail?

Not necessarily. Healing does not require reliving every painful experience. Much of our work focuses on building safety, awareness, and capacity within the nervous system so that healing can occur at a pace that feels supportive and manageable.

Do you incorporate spirituality into your work?

Yes, when it aligns with a client's beliefs and goals. I welcome conversations around meaning, purpose, spirituality, and personal growth while honoring each person's unique path.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. I offer both in-person and virtual counseling sessions for clients residing in states where I am licensed. Somatic healing and integrative intuitive healing sessions are available both in person and virtually, regardless of location.

How do I know if we're a good fit?

The best way to determine fit is through an initial consultation. This gives us an opportunity to connect, discuss your goals, answer questions, and determine whether working together feels aligned for both of us.
