It shouldn’t have been a surprise. I was sitting outside at a wedding ceremony when I spotted a tick on my dress. All I could do was flick it off. Five minutes later, I felt something crawling up my leg under my skirt.
Then I forgot all about it.
Three days later, the symptoms hit: Headache. Ringing in my ears. Massive fatigue. A burning pain across my low back. I knew exactly what it was, because these are the very symptoms my clients with Lyme disease and other vector-borne infections describe to me every week. I’ve experienced them myself before, as well.
Using my pendulum, I dowsed myself and discovered three strains of Borrelia, the spiral-shaped bacteria that causes Lyme disease. I already knew I needed Biomagnetic Therapy, so I reached out to a colleague who confirmed exactly what I had, without knowing what my dowsing had turned up.
Two sessions later, my symptoms were 90% better.
As with most Biomagnetic Therapy sessions, muscle testing revealed other pathogens my body had picked up — some recent, some from the distant past. I still had mosquito viruses to clear, along with EBV and CMV. But thankfully, I was better in every way.
I knew what was happening to me within days. Most people don't. And the ticks now wreaking havoc on Martha's Vineyard, and moving north, are causing something far harder to recognize.
In June, the Boston Globe ran a story on the lone star tick, which has moved into Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket and shows no sign of stopping there. The numbers are staggering. In 2021, Martha’s Vineyard Hospital ran 78 tests for alpha-gal syndrome, an allergy to a sugar molecule found in red meat, dairy, gelatin, and in places most people would never think to look. By 2024, that number topped 1,600 — and roughly 44 percent came back positive. One study cited found a more than 5,000 percent jump in five-year case counts.
One woman in the article had open-heart surgery and broke out in hives from heparin, a blood thinner derived from pig intestine. The gel caps on medications and supplements can trigger it. So can shampoo. Reactions tend to hit hours after eating, and they range from rash and stomach pain to anaphylaxis. Repeated bites can make it worse.
You don’t have to be deep in the woods. Unlike deer ticks, lone star ticks turn up in short mown lawn grass. The island’s tick biologist warns that a few steps outside your door is a real risk. Their larvae cluster into what’s called a tick bomb: arachnids the size of a grain of sand that can swarm a person by the hundreds.
Lone star ticks are already turning up elsewhere in Massachusetts, and alpha-gal is being diagnosed in people who have never been on the Vineyard.
I'm seeing it in my office, and fortunately, can help.
Biomagnetic can address the symptoms associated with Borrelia lonestari — the strain associated with the lone star tick — as well as for alpha-gal syndrome itself. That’s on top of more than a dozen other strains of Lyme and its co-infections that we address at the NH Health & Wellness Center, including:
With the Lyme Magnetic Protocol alone, we have more than 1,500 researched and identified biomagnetic pairs to address the complex, overlapping symptoms of far-reaching tickborne infection.
Most people don’t realize that ticks are not the only vector. Mosquitos, fleas, flies, and spiders carry most of the same infections, and are often overlooked.
Recently, a client came crawling into my office with massive headaches, nausea, fatigue, vertigo, and body aches. She told me she had been walking in the woods over the past month or two and had gotten bitten by mosquitos a few times, but it didn’t seem like a big deal. Four days after her most recent walk, when she was bitten again, every symptom flared.
Her body muscle tested positive for Jamestown Canyon virus, Borrelia (Lyme), Rickettsia bacteria, and STARI. Amazingly, her body wanted all of it addressed in a single session.
She wrote this review after our session:
“I had an incredible experience with Karen Cerato at the NH Health & Wellness Center. After getting numerous mosquito and black fly bites and possibly a tick bite, I spent two days in bed with a severe headache, dizziness, and nausea. I decided to try biomagnetism with Karen, and after just one session, I noticed a dramatic improvement. The next morning, I woke up feeling like myself again, with all of my symptoms gone. I have seen her for other things in the past, but I was amazed by the results I personally experienced this one time and am so grateful I found her.”
She had no idea a few mosquito bites could do that. Most people don’t.
I recognize this isn't a conventional approach. But in more than 10 years as a Biomagnetic Therapist, I've worked with countless clients — young and old — whose symptoms traced back to hidden pathogens like viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites, along with toxins and emotional burdens. These are rarely what standard testing looks for, which is why so many people are told everything is normal while they keep feeling unwell. So, stay with me.
Every session starts with the pendulum — not with a lab slip, but with the body itself. Through muscle testing and dowsing, I get direct feedback on what imbalances are present, and just as important, what your body wants addressed first.
From there, I place therapeutic-grade magnets in pairs at specific points. The magnets neutralize pH in the areas where pathogens have been thriving. As the environment stops being hospitable for those pathogens, the body releases them and detoxifies on its own.
Above all, we are electromagnetic beings, generating magnetic fields with every heartbeat, every thought, every nerve impulse. Biomagnetic Therapy relies on the same property an MRI does to see inside you.
And it’s almost never one infection. A new bite may land on top of dormant viruses, old inflammation, and years of accumulated stress, which leads to the tipping point when your symptoms reach the point of overwhelm.
Most people never see the bite. They just start feeling off — weeks, months, or sometimes years later — and never connect it to a walk in the woods, a wedding on a lawn, or a week at the beach.
If you’ve been bitten by a tick, or suspect you have been, or you’ve been told your tests are normal but you know something is wrong, trust that instinct. Being proactive now can spare you a long and difficult health journey later.
For those with a diagnosed alpha-gal allergy, keep working with your medical provider and keep carrying your prescribed medication. Biomagnetic Therapy works alongside that care, not instead of it, addressing the infection load underneath the allergy.
I offer in-person sessions in Nashua, NH, and remote sessions for clients anywhere in the world. To learn more or book an appointment, call (603) 402-9134 or email info@nhhealthwellness.com.
